The Westin Kierland Resort
Hotel Information: Using a "Treasuring the Essence of Arizona" theme, the resort pays tribute to Arizona's famous landscapes and colorful history. The entry is flanked by 12-foot-tall, cast glass panels glistening with water that trickles down into a bed of river rock. The striking views from the entrance showcase the surrounding mountains & rolling hills of the golf course.
Amenity highlights: The resort offers a full-service spa that honors the healing cultures of old Arizona. Other on-site amenities include a waterpark, Kid's Club, eight dining venues, and the Heavenly Bed®. Kierland Golf Club features a multi-faceted golf experience with 27-holes of desert golf; air-conditioned golf carts, a cool covered driving range, and more. One block away, Kierland Commons, a 38-acre outdoor shopping center, houses over 70 upscale shopping and dining venues.
Insider tip: Arizona’s official state historian, Marshall Trimble, worked with the Kierland staff for two years, providing them with a background in Arizona history to help answer guests’ questions. Hallways and lobbies have different Arizona themes, including geology, environment, and early exploration. The hotel’s Ali-Shonak Library includes books about Arizona.
This 11-story Westin Kierland Resort and Spa offers 735 guestrooms, all with private balconies offering views of the golf courses or desert and mountains. Dressed in desert tones, the rooms feature Westin's Heavenly Bed: custom-designed, foot-thick pillowtop mattress with all-white bedding; triple sheeting; down blanket, comforter, and duvet; and five pillows (two goose down/feather, two hypo-allergenic, and a decorative "boudoir" neck roll pillow).
Amenities at this Scottsdale resort include two dual-line speakerphones with high-speed Internet access (surcharge), in-room safes, honor bars, and oversized desks.
